SIET POLICIES

TYPE OF PEER REVIEW

SIET utilizes a double-blind review method whereby both the author and reviewer remain anonymous during the entire process.

REVIEWER SELECTION

SIET selects reviewers based on their expertise and regularly updates its database. While the author can suggest reviewers, these recommendations may or may not be utilized.

REVIEW PROCESS

During the review process, reviewers are asked to assess the manuscript's originality, methodology, adherence to ethical guidelines, presentation of results, and support for conclusions. However, reviewers are not expected to perform copyediting or language correction.

DECISION PROCESS

After the review process is complete, the author will receive a final decision along with any reviewer recommendations, which may include verbatim comments. Ultimately, the editor is responsible for accepting or rejecting the manuscript based on the advice of the reviewers

NO-SHOW POLICY

SIET enforces a no-show policy. Any paper accepted to the conference and included in the final program is expected to be presented at the conference during its scheduled presentation date and time by one of the paper's authors. Papers that are not presented in the conference will not be included in the final Proceeding

DUAL SUBMISSION

Submitting papers that are identical or largely similar to versions that have already been published, accepted for publication, or simultaneously submitted to other conferences or journals is not acceptable. Such actions would be in violation of our policy against dual submissions. As a result, the organizers retain the right to reject such submissions or remove them from the proceedings.

ETHICS

All authors and program committee members, including reviewers, are expected to adhere to established ethical guidelines. Plagiarism, in any form, is strictly prohibited, as is the unethical use of privileged information by reviewers, such as sharing it or employing it for purposes other than the reviewing process. Usage of text generated from large-scale language models (LLM), like ChatGPT, is only allowed if clearly presented as part of the paper's experimental analysis.
Any suspected unethical conduct will be thoroughly investigated by an ethics board, and individuals found in violation of these guidelines may face appropriate sanctions. This year, we will maintain a record of individuals who have breached these standards. If individuals representing conferences, journals, or other organizations request this list for decision-making purposes, we may disclose this information to them.

AUTHOR GUIDELINES (submission stage)

SUBMISSION PREPARATION CHECKLIST

SIET has a policy of not accepting papers that are currently under review or have already been accepted or published by another conference or journal.

The URLs included in the text are active and can be clicked.

For submissions to the peer-reviewed track of the conference, authors' names are replaced with "Author" and the year in the bibliography and footnotes to ensure anonymity in the double-blind review process. The author's identity should not be revealed anywhere in the submitted paper.

If submitting for peer review, all Microsoft Office documents, including Supplementary Files, must have their personal information removed from the file properties by going to File, selecting Save As, clicking Tools (or Options in a Mac), selecting "Remove personal information from file properties on save," and then saving the document.

Authors are invited to submit the full paper in English through EDAS. All submitted manuscripts will undergo a review process for acceptance.

Authors follow the EDAS submission process to submit manuscripts. The article format must adhere to the given template. Please note that by submitting manuscripts, authors agree to reformat their articles to the newest submission template when changes in the manuscript submission template occur. Editor-in-chief approves manuscripts submitted to the conference after plagiarism check with a maximum allowed similarity of 25%. SIET 2024 employs a double-blind reviewing process in collaboration with editorial board members and independent reviewers around the world. The authors’ names are removed from submission (reviewers do not know the author’s identity or vice versa). The authors should ensure that their identity never appears anywhere in the submitted paper. Once a manuscript passes quality control, it is assigned to a member of the editorial board (or an expert in the field which will become a guest editor) for conducting the peer-review process for making a decision on accepting, minor revision, major revision, or reject of the article.

PRIVACY STATEMENT
