Prof. Yuta Nakashima

Yuta Nakashima is a Professor at the Institute of Scientific and Industrial Research, Osaka University. He received his Ph.D. in Engineering from Osaka University in 2012. His research focuses on deep semantic understanding of images and videos by combining computer vision and natural language, with broader interests in interpretable AI and its applications, including medical image analysis.
He has also made notable contributions to the quantification and mitigation of social bias in AI models. Previously, he served as Assistant Professor at NAIST and Associate Professor and Professor at Osaka University, and was a visiting researcher at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and Carnegie Mellon University.
